Reboot Float Spa
1912 Lombard Street
Having a client trust us to help them open their very first business is a true honor. We had the privilege to help our client, Michael Garrett, open his very first float spa. It was our first float spa too and presented some interesting opportunities and new learning experiences.
If you’ve never heard of this before, the float tank is a sensory deprivation tank. The water is at perfect body temperature, has a high salt content so you float, and the tank cocoons you you so that sight, sound, and touch are removed so you can fully focus your mind.
Michael found a location on Lombard Street in a space that was slightly subterranean. Making it feel as spacious, tall, and light filled was our priority. Security and privacy were also crucial to the success of this project so each room was equipped with a private shower and changing area. His unique purple color permeates the hallway and the experience rooms, creating a cozy, womblike experience for his guests.
His business took off after this first location opened. We were humbled to be invited to help Michael open his second location 2 years later in Oakland, this time with another learning experience - cryo-treatments with nitrogen tanks. This is a hot new therapy for athletes to quick cool their muscles. His treatments even attracted high profile athletes like Stephen Curry who is now a regular at his spas.
